May Bank Holiday News and Fun

28 May

So being back in the real world still feels strange, but I am slowly getting used to it again.

With the UK enjoying a nice bank holiday (public holiday Monday), I thought it would be great to share a couple of fun things with you that I have come across over the last few weeks:

1 Old School Photo Challenge from Scott Kelby. Click here for link.

Read the full detail on Scott’s website… but the idea is to go “old school” and not look at you LCD, wait 24hrs before you look at the photos and then do no post processing in the likes of Photoshop, Lightroom or any other piece of software you use. Select your favourite and ACTUALLY PRINT an image…
I know Scott has gone out on a limb there now with the current digital revolution so strong, but I am sure that everyone will benefit from Scott’s challenge… just like he promises!
Will you take up the challenge? I will!!

2 Top Tips from Digital Photo School (DPS), read the full post here.

Top tips for being a stylist too, yes we all know that being a photographer means you will have to coach and direct your clients on not only how to act and pose in front of the camera, but also how to dress and prepare themselves for the actual photo session.

3 Racing and panning with EOS-Network, read the full post here.

It seems like Dave from EOS-Network and Scott Kelby have at least two things in common… photography and a love for racing!
See some great tips on how to pan (the art of moving the camera before, during, and after taking the photo in one smooth motion) while shooting race cars at Silverstone.
See the racing post from Scott Kelby here.

So this is me, back in the real world and looking forward to sharing some great photos with you!
